Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory disorders under licensed medical direction. The role includes administering therapy, documenting care, performing diagnostics, and educating patients and staff.

Qualifications include PA licensure or temporary permit, CRT certification, and preferred RRT with at least two years in hospital respiratory care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program.
• Pennsylvania licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) National Board of Respiratory Care required prior to the expiration of the Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
• Registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care (RRT) preferred.
• Two years’ experience in pulmonary/respiratory medicine in a hospital setting preferred.
• CPR – American Heart Association required.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies. (55%)
• Completes documentation to measure, monitor, and ensure department effectiveness (20%)
• Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies (20%)
• Provides instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed (5%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
