Job summary

Allegheny Health Network, part of Highmark Health, is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join the team and deliver respiratory care, assessment, and evaluation for patients under licensed direction.

The role includes performing diagnostic procedures, documenting care for quality and billing, and providing instruction to patients and staff. Compliance with HIPAA, employment and safety policies is required. This position is on-site and involves hospital-based responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program.
• Pennsylvania state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CR T) National Board of Respiratory Care required prior to the expiration of the Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).

Responsibilities

• Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies.
• Completes documentation that is required to measure, monitor, and ensure department effectiveness e.g., charting, billing, IPOC, patient/family education.
• Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies.
• Provides instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
