Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory disorders under licensed medical direction.

The role includes administering therapeutic respiratory care procedures, documenting care, performing diagnostic procedures, and educating patients and healthcare team members as needed. Compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program.
• PA state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required prior to expiration of the TPP.
• Preferred: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).

Responsibilities

• Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies.
• Completes documentation that is required to measure, monitor, and ensure department effectiveness e.g., charting, billing, IPOC, patient/family education.
• Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies.
• Provides instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
