Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner I for St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital on a PRN basis. The role involves comprehensive respiratory care, assessment, and treatment per physician orders, with emphasis on patient education and collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications include an active Respiratory Care License, NBRC credential, and preferred RRT. Prior experience and Epic EHR proficiency are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
• NBRC credentialed required.
• RRT credential preferred.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS preferred before direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients, plan and evaluate care with interdisciplinary team.
• Perform therapies per physician orders; adjust based on patient response.
• Maintain documentation and infection control practices.
• Educate patients on cardiopulmonary diseases and therapies.
• Set up and maintain respiratory therapy equipment.
• May serve as a preceptor to new staff or students.
• Respond to cardiopulmonary emergencies as needed.
