Job summary

Mercy Health's Urbana Hospital is seeking a PRN Respiratory Care Practitioner I to deliver comprehensive respiratory care. You will assess, plan, implement, educate, and evaluate therapy, adjusting treatments based on patient response while maintaining equipment and ensuring safety.

Key duties include bedside care, postural drainage, oxygen therapy, and collaboration with physicians. Licensure, NBRC credentialing, and BLS are required; RRT and ACLS/PALS are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Care License in the state of employment (required).
• NBRC credentialed (required).
• BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (required).
• ACLS/PALS - CPR certification (preferred).
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred.
• 6 months Respiratory Therapy experience in ambulatory or acute care (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and review data to plan care.
• Perform therapies per physician orders and adjust based on response.
• Educate patients and families on therapies and devices.
• Maintain respiratory therapy equipment and supplies.
• Assist with bronchoscopy/tracheostomy when applicable.
• Respond to cardiopulmonary resuscitations as needed.
