Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a PRN Respiratory Care Practitioner to support patient assessment, planning, and delivery of respiratory therapies. The role includes explaining therapies to patients, adjusting treatments based on response, documenting care, and maintaining equipment.

Required licensure and NBRC credentialing are emphasized, with preferred RRT and ongoing certification. The position involves collaboration with a care team and may include precepting students or staff.

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Care License in the state they are working (required).
• NBRC credentialed (required).
• RRT (preferred).
• BLS/ACLS/PALS (preferred at hire, must obtain).
• Valid driver's license (required for Home Care/DME).

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop care plans.
• Perform respiratory therapies per physician orders.
• Document care in medical charts.
• Educate patients and caregivers on therapies and devices.
• Set up and maintain respiratory equipment.
• Potentially precept new staff or students.
• Respond to CPR and respiratory emergencies.
