Promotes healing of acutely ill patients with compromised cardiac or pulmonary systems through respiratory care, diagnostic testing, psycho-social support, and patient education. Encourages and supports efficient operation of the Cardiopulmonary Services Department. Treats patients across all age groups from newborns to geriatrics. Assists with daily operations of the department, referring complex issues to the Manager or Medical Director as appropriate. Performs diagnostic testing, including arterial punctures for blood gas analysis, and maintains ABG analyzers. Operates and troubleshoots mechanical ventilators, bi-level ventilation equipment, and peak flow meters. Performs respiratory assessments as needed.
