Responsibilities

Promotes healing of acutely ill patients with compromised cardiac or pulmonary systems through respiratory care, diagnostic testing, psychosocial support, and patient education. Supports the efficient operation of the Cardiopulmonary Services Department. Treats patients across all age groups, from newborns to seniors. Assists with daily operations of the department, referring complex issues to the Manager or Medical Director as appropriate. Performs diagnostic testing, including arterial punctures for blood gas analysis, and maintains ABG analyzers. Operates mechanical ventilators, bi-level ventilation equipment, peak flow meters, and performs respiratory assessments.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  • Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner License in CA.
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • PALS certification within 3 months of hire.
  • ACLS certification recommended.
  • Current NRP certification for NICU RCP.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
  • Experience with general and specific tasks in Respiratory Care, including care for patients from newborn to geriatric.
