Job summary

Mercy Health’s Respiratory Care Practitioner II role at The Jewish Hospital requires delivering comprehensive respiratory care, supervising staff on shift, and educating patients and families. The team utilizes EPIC EHR and adheres to AHA ACLS/PALS guidelines with NBRC credentialing and state licensure.

Two years of experience are expected; licensing, CPR, and robust patient assessment skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree related to Respiratory Therapy/Healthcare preferred.
• Current Respiratory Care license in the state they are working (required).
• NBRC credentialed (required).
• BLS (required); ACLS (required); PALS (required).
• NRP (preferred); CPFT/RPFT (preferred); ACCS (preferred).
• Valid driver's license (required for Home Care/DME).
• Two years of experience as a Respiratory Care Professional (required).

Responsibilities

• Serve as shift Charge Therapist ensuring staffing coverage.
• Assist physicians with bronchoscopic and invasive procedures as applicable.
• Perform CPR and airway management according to ACLS protocols.
• Administer prescribed respiratory therapies and monitor patient responses.
• Set up and monitor ventilators and oxygen therapy; document procedures.
• Provide patient and family education on therapies and devices.
• Precept new team members and students.
