Job summary

HDR seeks a strategic Data Steward to shape how data is defined, shared, and reused across our Resources Business Group. You will define data once, ensure consistent interpretation, and enable reuse across projects and time.

You will lead governance, promote data fluency, and drive enterprise analytics readiness in a complex, multi-location environment. HDR values ownership and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of strategic leadership experience focused on growing, developing, and leading teams in change management and business data.
• Minimum 15 years of overall experience providing diverse data‑focused solutions and services to an organization and the industry.
• Experience within the architecture, engineering, and construction industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, data science, business, computer science, or related discipline or equivalent related experience.

Responsibilities

• Work as the RBG data point of contact and leverage SME expertise from our Business Classes and Practices.
• Develop and maintain specific data glossary(ies) for key engineering and technical terms with business context.
• Use your technical network to build alignment and consensus around data processes, priority, and expected use.
• Promote consistent, responsible use of technical data, including access, data quality, best practice for format, and reuse.
• Support governance of externally sourced datasets (access, approvals, inventory awareness, storage, and lifecycle considerations).
• Work with Enterprise Data Operations to help lead a RBG SME network to align practices and share lessons learned across our business classes and practices.
• Promote data fluency across the RBG.
• Regularly communicate and collaborate with other BG Data Stewards, BG and Enterprise Data Science Teams, and Enterprise Data Operations staff.
