Job summary

Sollers Point Technical High in Dundalk, MD, is seeking a Resource Teacher for Magnet Programs to support the magnet curriculum, professional development, and student engagement. The role involves collaboration with BCPS Magnet Programs staff and school teams to implement thematic magnet initiatives.

The position may include part‑time teaching duties and requires strong leadership, budget oversight, and data analysis skills to sustain program objectives and student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Five years of successful teaching experience.
• Two years as a content leader or department chair and curriculum development experience.
• Experience teaching in a magnet school program preferred.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to school staff and work with the BCPS Magnet Programs coordinator in planning, developing, and implementing the magnet program.
• Collaborate with curriculum offices to develop a unique, integrated magnet curriculum.
• Develop and facilitate an advisory/planning committee with key stakeholders.
• Coordinate promotional materials, events, partnerships, and recruitment; monitor enrollment and data.
• Monitor magnet student engagement and academic performance; facilitate interventions as needed.
• Assess and monitor faculty development needs related to the magnet program.
