Baltimore County Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher/Department Chair at Sollers Point Technical High in Dundalk, MD. The role combines classroom instruction with instructional leadership, guiding teachers and coordinating curriculum under the school principal's direction.

The position requires Maryland teacher certification, a bachelor’s degree, and at least three years of teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university is required.
• Three years teaching experience in related areas.
• Possession of Maryland Educator Professional Certificate or License is required/eligible.
• Maryland Advanced Professional Certificate or Advanced Professional License preferred.

Responsabilités

• Meets and instructs assigned classes at designated locations and times.
• Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment.
• Plans and implements instructional programs aligned to system goals.
• Prepares and documents lesson plans based on adopted curricula.
• Communicates standards, achievements, and deficiencies to students and parents.
• Maintains student records (academic, attendance, disciplinary).
• Collaborates with administrators, teachers, and families to educate students.
• Oversees use of textbooks and materials and ensures fit for instruction.
• Acts as instructional leader, coordinating curriculum and supporting state testing programs.
• Coaches teachers and develops professional development.
