Job summary

ProCare Therapy is seeking a Special Education Resource Teacher to support 4th and 5th graders in Portland, ME. This contract role runs ASAP through June 11, 2027, with a 32.5-hour workweek from 7:20 AM to 2:20 PM, early release Wednesdays at 1:10 PM. On-site W2 contractors receive comprehensive benefits.

You will deliver targeted instruction, develop IEPs, track progress, and communicate with families and teams to foster student growth in an inclusive setting.

Qualifications

• Active certification/licensure as a Special Education Teacher.
• Experience with life skills instruction and/or behavior support programs.
• Ability to tailor instruction for diverse learning needs.
• Strong collaboration with general education staff and related service providers.
• Experience with elementary students is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs.
• Provide direct instruction and resource support for 4th and 5th graders.
• Track student progress and adjust plans as needed.
• Communicate with families and multidisciplinary teams.
• Create a positive, structured classroom conducive to learning.
