Job summary

Oregon Trail Elementary School is seeking an Elementary Resource Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs through individualized instruction and an inclusive classroom environment. You will collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and special education staff to tailor educational experiences that promote academic growth and personal development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or Elementary Education; Master’s preferred.
• Active teaching license/certification in Oregon with Special Education endorsement.
• Experience with elementary students and diverse learning needs.
• Knowledge of IEP development and special education laws.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs aligned with state and federal regulations.
• Provide direct instruction in one-on-one, small groups, and classroom settings.
• Collaborate with teachers to adapt curricula for diverse learners.
• Monitor progress and adjust instruction as needed.
• Communicate with parents about student progress and strategies.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and school initiatives.
• Create a positive, nurturing, and structured classroom environment.
• Stay current with best practices in special education and pursue professional development.
• Advocate for students' needs within the school community.
