Qualifications

• Valid certification in Special Education (or eligibility for certification).
• Experience as a Special Education Teacher at the elementary level.
• Understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and support tailored to students with diverse learning needs in a resource setting.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families to create effective learning plans.
• Develop, implement, and track progress on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet students unique strengths and challenges.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress to all stakeholders.
• Create a positive, safe classroom culture that encourages student engagement and independence.
