Job summary

Damar Services, Inc. in Richmond, Indiana, is seeking a Resource Specialist to join our Support Services team at our Richmond location. This role focuses on maintaining a safe environment for clients and supporting direct care staff while developing leadership skills.

The position includes first and second shifts (6 AM–2 PM and 2 PM–10 PM) with starting pay of $16.50 per hour, benefits, and opportunities for growth through tuition assistance and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Six months of full-time experience working with behavioral challenges and/or individuals identifying with the DD/ID population.
• Be able to provide formal proof of education required for the position.
• Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirements.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving).
• Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions.
• Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening.

Responsibilities

• Effectively responds to and manages crisis situations for all Damar programs - taking the leadership role in de-escalation and/or intervention when needed.
• Initiates special precautions for clients that exhibit and meet high risk behavior criteria.
• Takes appropriate action regarding events affecting residents’ mental and physical well-being, including client and staff support and crisis management.
• Understands behavior support plans for high acuity clients.
