Job summary

Midway Independent School District is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide individualized instruction in self-contained and/or general education settings. You will develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons aligned to IEP goals, collaborating with ARD teams.

The role requires knowledge of ARD/IEP processes and ability to implement diverse instructional strategies, including use of technology in teaching and learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignments and content.
• Experience with ARD process and IEP goal setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with students, parents and staff to develop IEPs through ARD for each student.
• Implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill development programs with documented prep.
• Plan and use instructional strategies reflecting diverse learning styles and needs.
• Cooperate with general teachers to modify curricula and assist students in regular classes.
• Attend ARD Committee meetings regularly and participate in assessments.
