Job summary

Midland Independent School District seeks a Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs. The teacher will participate in ARD meetings, develop IEPs, design differentiated lessons, and collaborate with families and staff to promote student growth.

Responsibilities include using technology in instruction, monitoring progress, managing the classroom, and adhering to TEA policies and district procedures to ensure effective instruction and positive student outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university.
  • Valid teaching certificate for subject/grade level assigned; Special Education certified
  • Eligible for the TEA approved Teacher Certification Probationary Certificate

Responsibilities

  • Participate in ARD Committee meetings on a regular basis.
  • Develop and implement plans for the curriculum and show written evidence of preparation.
  • Present the subject matter according to TEA guidelines and district policies.
  • Employ differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust materials accordingly.
  • Plan and supervise teacher assistants and volunteers as assigned.
