Job summary

Midland Independent School District is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide targeted learning activities designed to fulfill students’ potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.

You will participate in ARD Committee meetings, develop and implement IEPs, differentiate instruction, collaborate with parents and staff, and monitor progress using TEA guidelines and district policies.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with ARD processes and IEP goal setting.
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs for students.
• Solid understanding of curriculum and instruction in Special Education.
• Ability to work with a diverse student population.
• Knowledge of appropriate professional and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Participate in ARD Committee meetings on a regular basis.
• Collaborate with families and staff to develop IEPs.
• Develop and implement curriculum plans with required documentation.
• Differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs.
• Monitor student progress and adjust materials accordingly.
• Use technology to support teaching and learning.
• Maintain classroom discipline aligned with policies and IEPs.
