SCMV Options is seeking a dedicated Resource Room Teacher to join our team. This full-time role supports students with diverse learning needs in a resource room setting and collaborates with teachers, staff, and families to promote growth and success.

The ideal candidate will develop IEPs, provide targeted instruction, and monitor progress while maintaining accurate records and participating in professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
• Experience with students with disabilities, preferably in resource room or inclusive setting.
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
• Proficiency with educational technology.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs for students with special needs in line with guidelines.
• Provide direct instruction and support in a resource room setting.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to identify and support students.
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of performance and IEP goals.
• Communicate with parents and guardians regarding progress.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and share recommendations.
• Stay current with best practices in special education and pursue professional development.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment and support diverse learners.
