Crescent Academy in Michigan is hiring a full-time Resource Room Teacher for the 26/27 school year. The role supports students with diverse learning needs, implements IEPs, and collaborates with general education and specialists to tailor instruction.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Special Education or related field with Michigan secondary teaching certification, and possesses strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills to foster an inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field.
• MI teaching certification/license for secondary education with an endorsement in the subject.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for relationships with students, families and colleagues.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.
• Strong knowledge of IEP development and differentiated instruction strategies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and parents to develop and implement IEPs and instructional strategies tailored to each student’s needs.
• Provide targeted support to students with disabilities or learning challenges, helping them access the curriculum and develop academic and social skills.
• Develop, implement, and adapt comprehensive lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and accommodate diverse learning styles.
• Develop assessments and monitor student performance through tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.
• Implement appropriate interventions to promote growth and achievement.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development.
• Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the mission of Crescent Academy.
• Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students.
• Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff.
