Job summary

Crescent Academy is seeking a full-time Resource Room Teacher for the 26/27 school year to support students with diverse learning needs. The role emphasizes differentiating instruction, developing IEPs, and collaborating with general and special education staff to ensure accessibility to the curriculum.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Special Education and Michigan teaching certification, along with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
• Michigan secondary teaching certification with subject endorsement
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of IEP development and differentiated instruction
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and staff

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and parents to develop and implement IEPs and instructional strategies
• Provide targeted support to students with disabilities or learning challenges
• Develop and adapt comprehensive lesson plans to meet standards and diverse learning styles
• Develop assessments and monitor student performance through tests, quizzes, projects and presentations
• Implement interventions to promote growth and achievement
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in professional development
• Participate in school activities, meetings and events to contribute to the school's mission
• Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students
• Maintain effective communication with students, parents and school staff
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance
