  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development and differentiated instruction strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and parents to develop and implement IEPs and instructional strategies tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Provide targeted support to students with disabilities or learning challenges, helping them access the curriculum and develop academic and social skills.
  • Develop, implement, and adapt comprehensive lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Develop assessments and monitor student performance through tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.
  • Implement appropriate interventions to promote growth and achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the mission of Crescent Academy.
  • Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students.
  • Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff.

Crescent Academy is currently hiring a full timeResource Room Teacherfor the 26/27 school year.

Crescent Academy serves over 500 students at grade level PreK-11. We are seeking a passionate and dedicatedResource Room Teacherto join our team. The Resource Room Teacher plays a critical role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, helping them reach their academic goals and develop essential skills. The ideal candidate will be skilled in differentiated instruction, possess a deep understanding of special education practices, and demonstrate the ability to create a nurturing, inclusive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Withstand a moderate noise level
  • Be able to perform first aid/CPR if necessary
  • Assist/lift students, as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification/license in Michigan for secondary education with an endorsement in the subject.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development, best practices in special education, and differentiated instruction strategies.
