Job summary

Crescent Academy is seeking a passionate Resource Room Teacher for the 26/27 school year. The teacher will support students with diverse learning needs, develop IEPs, and differentiate instruction to promote academic and social growth.

The role requires collaboration with staff, families, and specialists, along with strong communication and organizational skills to foster a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education required.
• Valid Michigan teaching certification/license in secondary education with an endorsement in the subject.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.
• Strong knowledge of IEP development and differentiated instruction strategies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and parents to develop and implement IEPs and instructional strategies tailored to each student’s needs.
• Provide targeted support to students with disabilities or learning challenges, helping them access the curriculum and develop skills.
• Develop, implement, and adapt comprehensive lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
• Develop assessments and monitor student performance through tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.
• Implement appropriate interventions to promote growth and achievement.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives.
• Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution.
• Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students and effective communication with students, parents, and staff.

Job description

Crescent Academy is currently hiring a full time Resource Room Teacher for the 26/27 school year.

Crescent Academy serves over 500 students at grade level PreK-11. We believe in the whole child approach which means that academy staff assists students and their families in bettering their outcomes by creating a college bound culture that expects and teaches strong character, academic achievement, and civic engagement.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Resource Room Teacher to join our team. The Resource Room Teacher plays a critical role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, helping them reach their academic goals and develop essential skills. The ideal candidate will be skilled in differentiated instruction, possess a deep understanding of special education practices, and demonstrate the ability to create a nurturing, inclusive environment.

• Assist/lift students, as necessary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field.
