Job summary

Oakland Schools seeks an Elementary Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year in a Resource Room setting (1.0 FTE). You will support students with diverse needs and coordinate with general education staff to adapt lessons.

The candidate must hold a valid Michigan teaching certificate with a special education endorsement and demonstrate experience with IEP goals, PLAAFP, FBA, behavior plans, and MTG meetings.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with an endorsement in an area of special education.
• Experience implementing IEP goals and behavior plans.
• Ability to design accommodations and modifications for the general education curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Design accommodations and modifications aligned with general education.
• Develop Present Levels of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance, IEP goals and objectives, FBA, and behavior plans.
• Coordinate and participate in MET/IEPT meetings and prepare reports for students.
