Job summary

Oakland Human Resources Consortium is seeking a Special Education/Elementary Resource Teacher for Deerfield Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. The role requires Michigan Certification with a special education endorsement and experience with IEPs and behavior plans.

The teacher will provide direct instruction to students with ASD, SLD, EI and other needs, collect data, and collaborate with staff, families, and the community while navigating state and federal rules.

Qualifications

• Must hold Michigan teaching certification with the appropriate endorsement for special education.
• Endorsements in ASD, EI, and/or CI are preferred.
• Ability to develop Present Levels of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance statements, IEP goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction for special education students in academic, communication, social and transition areas.
• Develop and maintain special education records and IEPs that meet goals and educational benefit.
• Coordinate with staff, parents and community; assess progress and communicate regularly.
