Job summary

Hoquiam School District No. 28 is seeking a paraeducator to support students in a Special Education: Resource Room setting.

The role includes implementing instruction, aiding behavior plans, and creating inclusive, safe learning environments, with emphasis on relationships, engagement, and adaptive pathways. The position requires collaboration with teachers and families, utilization of Google Workspace and Zoom, and data collection to monitor progress toward IEP goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of college coursework or higher.
• Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
• Ability to assist in instruction per district requirements.
• First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
• Satisfactory background check completed.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support in reading, writing, and math.
• Assist in planning and implementing individualized instruction.
• Maintain safe, proactive learning environments.
• Assist with behavior plans and data collection for IEP goals.
• Support personal care needs and mobility as required.
• Operate classroom equipment and use technology tools.
