Job summary

Hoquiam School District No. 28 is seeking a Paraeducator - Intervention to support math and ELA interventions, working with the Intervention Specialist to assist students with high academic and behavioral needs. The role includes small-group and one-on-one instruction, plus de-escalation support and supervision.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with two years of college or an associate degree or approved equivalent, and experience with reading intervention curricula.

Qualifications

• Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED; two years of college or an associate degree or approved equivalent.
• Experience with Read Naturally, Phonics for Reading, Rewards.
• Ability to support reading and math instruction and manage groups.

Responsibilities

• Assist with reading, writing, and mathematics instruction and practice.
• Provide de-escalation and behavior support per plans.
• Supervise students in lunch, recess, and transitions.
• Prepare instructional materials and assist with clerical tasks.
• Collaborate with the Intervention Specialist and classroom staff.
