Job summary

Woodland Public Schools is seeking a Resource Room Paraeducator to work primarily in the Resource classroom and sometimes in general education settings. The role supports the teacher with daily activities, attends to students' health and safety, and helps promote dignity and inclusion within the classroom.

The position emphasizes collaboration with staff, ongoing training (including FCS within the first year), and flexible duties across classrooms.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must complete one of the approved higher-education/assessment options.
• Complete the Fundamental Course of Study within the first year.
• Ability to work and communicate well with staff.
• One year of experience with children in an educational setting.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to learn and use a computer monitor and adaptive technologies.
• Ability to implement educational programs and manage student behavior.
• Flexible with tasks and schedules.
• Ability to lift/move and restrain a child as required.
• Ability to escort students safely around the school.
• Regular and punctual attendance.
• Male preferred for locker room supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with daily classroom activities and student health/safety.
• Support instructional activities and adapt programs as directed.
• Supervise the Boys Locker Room at designated times.
• Collaborate with general and special education staff to meet student needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct.
