Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bilingual and/or Biliterate in Spanish is preferred but not required.
• Must meet one or more: AA/AS or higher; 72 college quarter credits or 48 semester credits; or passing ETS paraeducator assessment.

Responsibilities

• Use trauma-informed strategies to build safe, supportive relationships.
• Collect and document data on academic progress, behavior and IEP goals.
• Follow behavior intervention plans and use CPI strategies to de-escalate situations.
• Assist in delivering instruction and reinforcement in academics, behavior and social-emotional areas.
• Provide one-on-one or small group instruction as directed.
• Administer first aid when needed and assist with supervision and safety.
• Assist with classroom management and material preparation for lessons.
• Translate information to assist students and district staff as needed (bilingual).
• Attend required paraeducator training hours and participate in district meetings.
