Job summary

Spokane Public Schools is seeking a Resource Room Paraeducator to support students with IEP goals in both special and general education settings. You will implement accommodations, collect data, and assist the special education teacher to promote access to instruction.

Hours are 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with ASAP start. Salary is Level 30 on the Paraeducator Salary Schedule, and most benefits are provided through SEBB for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and college credits or degree.
• Core competencies within one year per the bargaining agreement.
• Experience with students with disabilities preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with personal care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the special education teacher with direct instructional support for students with disabilities.
• Assist in curriculum development in reading, English, social studies, and math under teacher direction.
• Support individual students and program needs and address behavior concerns.
• Provide clerical support in the Resource program.
• Other duties as assigned.
