Mead Learning Options in Spokane is seeking a ParaEducator - Special Education to provide support in instructional, behavioral, and social-emotional areas for students receiving special education services.

The position is full-time, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:45 am to 3:15 pm. Responsibilities include assisting teachers, collecting data, implementing IEP plans, and helping maintain a safe learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Supports teachers in meeting instructional, educational, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students with disabilities.
• Provides instructional support in small or large groups to reinforce learning objectives.
• Assists with observing, recording data, and charting behavior.
• Follows plans and procedures as directed by administrators or certificated staff.
• Ensures health, safety, and well-being of children per district policies.
• Maintains classroom order and behavior in common areas such as cafeteria, hallways, and gym.
• Supports implementation of behavior plans and ERP as written by the IEP team.
• Contributes to development of IEPs by providing information to teachers/administrators.
• Collaborates with Special Education and general education staff increasingly and shares materials as needed.
• Prepares materials designated in lesson plans and learns new approaches for instruction.
• Exhibits patience and positive engagement with students, including those with special needs.
