Job summary

Career Team in San Luis Obispo, CA, is seeking a Resource Room Navigator to support the daily operation of the AJC Resource Room and act as a primary contact for customers accessing workforce services.

You will welcome visitors, identify needs, provide hands-on assistance, and connect customers to staff, programs, and community resources. This is a 100% onsite role with bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in front desk, reception, or customer service preferred.
• Comfortable using standard office equipment.
• Comfortable facilitating presentations, orientations, and workshops.
• Ability to work with a culturally diverse customer base.
• Strong computer skills including email, Google Workspace, Zoom, and Office apps.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to learn and navigate workforce systems and programs.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in job seekers, employers, community partners, and visitors to the AJC.
• Identify the reason for visits and connect to the appropriate service or staff.
• Provide hands-on assistance in the Resource Room with computers and online resources.
• Assist customers with CalJOBS registration and navigation.
• Maintain current job boards, training information, and resources.
• Facilitate weekly AJC orientations and career preparation workshops.
• Coordinate with staff and partners to support referrals and access to resources.
• Provide information by phone, email, text, and in person regarding services and events.
