Job summary

Career Team is seeking a Resource Room Navigator in San Luis Obispo, CA. This 100% onsite role supports the American Job Center by welcoming visitors, guiding them to the right programs, and keeping resource materials current.

You’ll assist with CalJOBS, machine setup, and conducting weekly orientations and workshops. Strong customer service, organization, and bilingual English/Spanish abilities are preferred for serving a diverse community.

Qualifications

• Experience in a front-desk or customer-facing role preferred.
• Able to greet visitors and manage check-in accurately.
• Proficient with standard office equipment and software.
• Experience facilitating orientations/workshops is a plus.
• Excellent communication and data-entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in job seekers, employers, and partners at the AJC.
• Assist customers with check-in and identify the reason for visit to connect with services.
• Provide hands-on Resource Room assistance with computers, printers, and job search tools.
• Assist CalJOBS registration, navigation, and resume uploads.
• Maintain current job boards and workshop schedules for timely information.
• Coordinate weekly AJC orientations and career-prep workshops.
• Refer customers to staff, partners, or programs based on needs.
• Handle inquiries by phone, email, or in person and route to appropriate staff.
• Support registration, attendance tracking, and follow-up on referrals.
• Ensure a welcoming, accessible environment and inclusive service.
