Job summary

Methuen Public School District is seeking a LTS Pathways Resource Room Program Assistant to support students with autism in a full inclusion setting at Donald P Timony Grammar School. The role focuses on implementing behavior plans, monitoring progress, and providing academic assistance under the supervision of certified staff.

Two positions available; applicants should have a high school diploma (associate degree preferred) and experience with young children.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associates degree or higher preferred.
• Experience working with young children.
• Experience assisting in program implementation.
• Ability to work with professional staff.
• Outstanding preparation and/or experience may be substituted for some of the above qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Support and assist students with autism/characteristics of autism who attend full inclusion.
• Support with implementation of behavior plan.
• Monitor students throughout the day across all settings.
• Provide academic support as needed.
• Potential toileting assistance with younger students.
• Monitoring and supporting for attention, work completion and social navigation.
• Potential assistance with communication devices.
