Amara Cay Resort in the Florida Keys is seeking a passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. You will work closely with the Executive Chef to plan, staff, and execute daily kitchen operations in a high‑volume resort setting.

The ideal candidate has leadership skills, strong communication, and a meticulous eye for detail. You will help manage inventory, assist in hiring and training, and contribute to menu development and quality control.

Qualifications

• College degree or certification in culinary or hospitality preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in a high-volume kitchen, preferably in a hotel or resort.
• Knowledge of a variety of culinary techniques and cuisines.
• Strong leadership and ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the culinary team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
• Communicate daily with the Executive Chef on planning, staffing and procedures.
• Complete daily food requisitions and daily specials.
• Assist in hiring, training, and coaching of the team.
• Involves menu development, inventory management, and ensuring dishes are prepared to perfection.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and uphold safety standards.
