Job summary

Outdoor Adventures is seeking a Retail and Reservations Manager for our Lake Shore Resort in Michigan. This full-time role partners with the Regional Store Manager to lead a team, manage reservations and on-site guest services, and drive profitability through exceptional service.

The ideal candidate demonstrates leadership, customer-focused communication, and the ability to oversee daily store operations, staff training, and merchandising while coordinating with housekeeping to ensure guest

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience; or knowledge, skills, and mental ability equivalent to two years of high school education
• At least two years of customer service experience
• One year of front desk experience in the hospitality industry; familiarity with resort check-in software
• Available to work both night and weekend shifts
• Previous experience in a retail environment preferred; training will be provided
• Able to assist customers/guests when needed
• Organized and able to follow a schedule
• Able to follow verbal directions
• Ability to lift up to 25 to 30 pounds
• Physically able to reach, stretch, bend, and walk during daily routine, with ability to stand for long lengths of time

Responsibilities

• Build a good rapport with the Regional Store Manager to collaborate on all store-related goals and initiatives
• Supervise, train, and assist Store employees in customer service, store maintenance, and product promotions
• Exude strong leadership when overseeing employees within the Store department
• Coach and mentor underperforming Store staff members
• Understanding the overall needs of the resort by collaborating with the Resort Manager
• Plan and direct the day-to-day operations of the store
• Develop strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales, increase profitability, create store policies and marketing programs that will increase sales and grow the existing customer base
• Maintain high store standards and conditions and foster a positive environment
• Welcome visitors and assign locations according to guests’ booking; provide additional information about the Resort and its amenities
• Make certain that customer needs are met, complaints are resolved, and service is quick and efficient
• Ensure all products and displays are merchandised effectively
• Collaborate with Resort Housekeeping staff to ensure Cabins/Park Models are cleaned, organized, and furnished prior to guests’ arrival
• Update Camplife records of payments and bookings
• Keep all public spaces neat and tidy
• Report repairs and replacements needed when encountered on job
