Job summary

Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Pastry Cook for the Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, TX. You will prepare designated bakery items following recipes, maintain sanitary standards, and coordinate with the Pastry Chef on desserts for restaurants and events.

The role requires basic cake decorating, knowledge of pastries, and the ability to work scheduled shifts with on-time attendance. A Texas Food Handlers Card is required, with room for growth in a luxury resort kitchen.

Qualifications

• Two years’ bakery production experience preferred.
• Basic cooking knowledge and knife handling skills.
• Safety, sanitation and food handling procedures knowledge required.
• Knowledge of cakes, tarts, mousses, batters, doughs, custards, frostings and ice creams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare designated food items in a sanitary, timely manner.
• Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specs.
• Assist with restocking and cleaning/sanitation of kitchen areas.
• Work restaurant prep, banquet prep and plating; contribute dessert ideas with Pastry Chef.
• Follow safety rules and practices.
• Attend scheduled shifts on time.
