Job summary

Broward County Government is seeking a skilled Emergency Management professional to plan, coordinate, and administer the countywide emergency management program.

The role involves reviewing Comprehensive Emergency Management Plans (CEMP) for healthcare facilities, including generator plans for nursing homes and assisted living facilities, and delivering training to new facility administrators and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with major coursework in business, liberal arts, or emergency management.
• Two years of experience in emergency management planning or closely related field.
• One year of relevant experience may substitute for each year of required education.

Responsibilities

• Advise division director on operational and technical matters of the emergency management program.
• Assist partners with planning, training, and outreach for emergency management programs.
• Maintain readiness of the Division and Emergency Operations Center; develop SOPs and job aids.
• Prepare grant proposals and reports; coordinate grant applications as needed.
• Provide 24-hour emergency point of contact as duty officer on a rotating basis.
• Deliver emergency management and disaster preparedness education to diverse audiences.
• Review and update various emergency management plans and SOPs; support portal enhancements.
