Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Resilience and Emergency Management Intern to join our New York, NY office. You will support resilience, emergency management, disaster recovery, grants, planning, and infrastructure initiatives for public-sector clients.

Responsibilities include research, data collection, preparing deliverables, maintaining datasets and dashboards, GIS support, and QA/QC of project documents. Collaboration with specialists and stakeholders is essential, with opportunities to learn

Qualifications

• No professional experience required; internship or related experience is a plus.
• 60 credit hours toward a degree by start of internship; preferred fields listed.
• Preferred fields include Emergency Management, Public Policy, GIS, Planning, or related disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Support resilience, emergency management, disaster recovery, grant, and planning projects via research and data collection.
• Review and organize grant applications, plans, and project records per program requirements.
• Prepare correspondence, summaries, presentations, maps, and other deliverables for internal and client use.
• Maintain datasets, dashboards, SharePoint sites, databases, and other systems of record.
• Conduct research and analysis, including data visualization and GIS support.
• Quality assurance reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance of documents and datasets.
• Collaborate with grants specialists, planners, engineers, and stakeholders on project execution.
• Support public engagement, site visits, planning activities, and funding programs (FEMA, HUD, state agencies).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
