Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in New York, NY is offering a Resilience and Emergency Management Intern position to join our REM unit. This internship provides hands-on experience supporting resilience, emergency management, disaster recovery, grants, planning, and infrastructure initiatives for public-sector clients.

You will assist with data collection, research, reports, maps, and presentations; maintain datasets and dashboards; support coordination with grants specialists, engineers, and project managers; and

Qualifications

• Pursuing degree with 60+ credits toward graduation.
• Preferred fields include Emergency Management, Public Policy, GIS, Planning, Data Analytics, or related disciplines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with AI-enabled productivity tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support resilience, emergency management, disaster recovery, grant, and planning projects through research, data collection, document development, meeting coordination, and follow-up activities.
• Review, organize, track, and maintain grant applications, reimbursement requests, plans, project records, and related documentation.
• Prepare correspondence, meeting summaries, presentations, maps, reports, and other project deliverables for internal and client use.
• Maintain project information, datasets, dashboards, SharePoint sites, databases, and other systems of record.
• Conduct research and analysis, including data compilation, data visualization, GIS support, and reviews of program guidance and policies.
• Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance of documents and datasets.
• Collaborate with grants specialists, planners, engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to support project execution and client engagement.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support project, client, office, and organizational needs.
