Job summary

United Stand in Chicago is seeking a School Counselor to support students' social, emotional, and academic development within partner schools. You will provide individual and group counseling, assess needs, and develop plans to address emotional and behavioral concerns.

Collaborating with teachers, administrators, caregivers, and families, you will coordinate interventions, monitor progress, and connect students to resources while contributing to school-wide mental health and equity initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field and state licensure or eligibility for licensure.
• Experience with trauma-exposed or underserved youth in urban school environments.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills with students, families, and school staff.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and ethical standards, with ability to maintain documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to students.
• Conduct assessments and create plans to address emotional and behavioral needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and caregivers to coordinate interventions.
• Respond to crises and document services.
