Rite of Passage Brand is seeking a Residential Youth Mentor in Escondido, California. The role involves providing safety and around-the-clock supervision for youth while also attending to their physical, personal, and health needs.

The ideal candidate will be at least 21 years old, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and be able to pass background checks. This full-time position offers competitive pay starting at $19.00/hr plus additional benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical exam, and TB test.
• Able to pass a search of the child-abuse central registry.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and supervision of youth.
• Attend to physical, personal, and health needs of each student.
• Offer individual counseling and facilitate skill development.
• Create an atmosphere supportive of students’ needs.
• Monitor and document student behaviors and activities.
• Participate in educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities.
• Collaborate with professional staff to meet treatment plan goals.

Overview

San Pasqual Academy is located on a beautiful 238 acres in rural San Pasqual Valley. The campus includes classrooms, an auditorium, gym, cafeteria, and sports fields. The School’s residential staff serve as surrogate parents who mentor and tutor students, teach independent living skills, and promote family‑living skills.

Pay & Benefits

Pay: starting at $19.00/hr. Full‑time positions receive a $1,500 longevity and training bonus.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and around‑the‑clock in‑person supervision of youth.
• Attend to the physical, personal, and health needs of each student.
• Offer individual counseling and facilitate behavioral, social, physical, and educational skill development.
• Create an atmosphere supportive of students’ needs.
• Monitor and document student behaviors and activities.
• Participate and assist with educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities.
• Collaborate with other professional staff to establish and meet each student’s treatment plan goals.
