Job summary

NFI Massachusetts Inc. is seeking compassionate and dedicated Residential Youth Counselors to join our team across multiple residential youth programs located in Haverhill, Wilmington, Beverly, Peabody and Amesbury, MA.

Positions available include full-time, part-time, and per diem. Programs serve adolescents and transitional age youth (ages 12–22) with emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges, often with histories of trauma.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with adolescent population preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid U.S. drivers license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and support to youth in a residential setting.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured environment.
• Serve as a positive role model, encouraging healthy decision-making.
• Support youth with life skills, social-emotional development, and daily routines.
• Facilitate recreational, vocational, and therapeutic activities.
• Engage in crisis intervention and de-escalation when necessary.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure quality care and programming.
