Job summary

GFL is seeking a dedicated Residential Driver in Elmwood Park, IL to perform curbside and backdoor waste collection with a focus on safety and customer service. You will operate a rear/side-load truck, assist on-route with debris and ensure timely delivery of services.

The role emphasizes safe driving, routine vehicle checks, and adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. Benefits include PTO, medical/dental/vision, and retirement plans as part of a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Must possess a CDL and able to meet safety-sensitive criteria.
• Experience in commercial driving and route delivery is preferred.
• Strong communication and safe driving practices are required.

Responsibilities

• Operate residential/recycling collection trucks on assigned routes.
• Load waste or recyclables into the vehicle and operate the compactor.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required reports.
• Communicate vehicle issues to supervisor and mechanics as needed.
• Maintain route quality and follow all safety regulations and company policies.
• Attend safety meetings and assist with overtime if required.
