Job summary

CPI Security is seeking a Residential Upgrade Technician in Raleigh to perform in-home upgrades of residential security systems and build rapport with customers. You will identify upsell opportunities, ensure complete customer satisfaction, and maintain a professional, safe service experience.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Electronics/electrical/HVAC training is a plus.
  • Strong upselling and closing abilities are important.
  • Safety commitment is essential.
  • Ability to work well solo and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Upgrade residential security systems accurately and efficiently.
  • Meet or exceed performance goals.
  • Perform home walkthrough to determine optimal system configuration and upsell opportunities.
  • Keep customer informed about the upgrade process and any install considerations.
  • Connect in-home system to the monitoring center and demonstrate the system.
  • Submit billing and payroll paperwork timely and accurately.
  • Maintain safety and avoid injuries or damage.
  • Provide exceptional customer service at all times.
  • Coordinate with management on issues or concerns.
  • Clean up work area after upgrade.
  • Maintain company equipment and appearance.

Job description

We are seeking a Residential Upgrade Technicianto perform in-home upgrades of our residential systems. As well as provide quality upgrade services, establish rapport with customers and use your expertise to identify opportunities to add products and services to their security system. Above all, you will ensure complete customer satisfaction with both their system and the upgrade process.

Responsibilities
  • Upgrading residential security systems accurately and efficiently
  • Meeting or exceeding performance goals on a consistent basis
  • Performing walkthrough of home to determine the optimal system configuration, and to identify up-selling opportunities
  • Keeping the customer informed at all times of what the upgrade process will entail, whether walls will need to be drilled in order to run wiring, etc.
  • Connecting in-home system up to our central monitoring system, activating system and performing customer demonstration
  • Maintaining good administrative responsibility by submitting billing and payroll paperwork in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensuring the highest level of safety and responsibility in order to avoid injury, property damage or loss of unused materials
  • Providing exceptional customer service at all times
  • Consulting with management on any issues or concerns
  • Cleaning up work area thoroughly following the upgrade
  • Maintaining all company equipment, including truck, tools, inventory, etc
  • Maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent; electronics/electrical/HVAC/technical training at trade school or community college, a plus
  • Good sales skills, particularly with strong upselling and closing abilities
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Commitment to safety
  • Ability to work effectively both on an individual basis and as part of a team
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • High energy, fun and positive attitude
  • Schedule flexibility and the ability to work weekends
  • Thorough understanding of alarm systems (user interaction, troubleshooting, etc.) a plus
  • Alarm, cable installation, telecom experience a plus
  • Computer skills (particularly iPad and MS Outlook) a plus
