Job summary

Supportive Concepts for Families, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Residential Specialist to provide direct care for individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.

You will assist with personal care, meals, daily living skills, and community activities while following individualized plans and promoting dignity and respect. We offer paid training, flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends, and opportunities to grow within a mission-driven organization.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old and able to work in a residential setting.
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License required.
  • Experience working with individuals with MH diagnoses and disabilities preferred.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in English communication, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to complete training programs and pass required clearances.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
  • Assist with personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene.
  • Prepare meals and assist with feeding when necessary.
  • Support daily living skills and independence.
  • Help individuals participate in community activities, appointments, and social events.
  • Provide companionship, encouragement, and emotional support.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment.
  • Follow individualized support plans and goals.
  • Promote dignity, respect, and person-centered care.

We are currently hiring candidates with a variety of availability, including full-time, part-time, and weekend availability.
7 Days On / 7 Days Off Schedule
  • Approximately 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM
  • Hours may vary based on program and staffing needs
Overnight Schedule
  • Approximately 8:00 PM – 9:00 AM
  • Hours may vary based on program and staffing needs
  • Weekend positions available
  • Evening and overnight opportunities available
  • Flexible scheduling based on programmatic needs
  • Holiday availability may be required
Open availability is encouraged!

What You'll Do

As a Residential Specialist, you will provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene

  • Supporting daily living skills and independence
  • Helping individuals participate in community activities, appointments, and social events
  • Providing companionship, encouragement, and emotional support

Qualifications
Required:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License
  • Previous experience working directly with individuals with MH diagnoses and disabilities
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in English communication, both verbal and written
  • Ability to successfully complete all required training programs
  • Ability to pass Criminal Record History Clearances, FBI clearance, Physical Examination, and Drug Screening
Preferred:
  • Experience in residential services, behavioral health, recovery-oriented care, or human services
  • Knowledge of Trauma-Informed Care and person-centered practices
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist individuals as needed
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
