Job summary

Supportive Concepts for Families, Inc. is seeking a Residential Specialist to provide direct care in a residential setting to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Reading, PA. You will support daily living, hygiene, meals, and community activities.

No experience required for many positions; paid training provided. We foster a compassionate, team-oriented environment with dependable scheduling and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License
  • Previous experience working directly with individuals with MH diagnoses and disabilities
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in English communication, both verbal and written
  • Ability to successfully complete all required training programs
  • Ability to pass Criminal Record History Clearances, FBI clearance, Physical Examination, and Drug Screening
  • Experience in residential services, behavioral health, recovery-oriented care, or human services
  • Knowledge of Trauma-Informed Care and person-centered practices

Responsibilities

  • Providing direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting
  • Assisting with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene
  • Preparing meals and assisting with feeding when necessary
  • Supporting daily living skills and independence
  • Helping individuals participate in community activities, appointments, and social events
  • Providing companionship, encouragement, and emotional support
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment
  • Following individualized support plans and goals
  • Promoting dignity, respect, and person-centered care

RESIDENTIAL SPECIALIST

We are currently hiring candidates with a variety of availability, including full-time, part-time, and weekend availability.

7 Days On / 7 Days Off Schedule Weekends is a Must

  • Approximately 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM
  • Hours may vary based on program and staffing needs

Overnight Schedule

  • Approximately 8:00 PM – 9:00 AM
  • Hours may vary based on program and staffing needs
  • Weekend positions available
  • Evening and overnight opportunities available
  • Flexible scheduling based on programmatic needs
  • Holiday availability may be required

Open availability is encouraged! We are looking for dependable team members who can work a variety of schedules based on the needs of our residential programs.

What You'll Do

As a Residential Specialist, you will provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist individuals as needed
