Supportive Concepts for Families, Inc. is hiring Residential Specialists to provide direct care in a residential setting for individuals with IDD. No experience required for many positions; paid training provided. Opportunities across multiple locations in Harrisburg/ Dauphin County.

Full-time and part-time roles available with a $2,000 sign-on bonus for full-time. Competitive pay and a broad benefits package accompany this mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a PA driver’s license.
• Experience with IDD and behavioral health is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication, documentation and organizational skills.
• Must complete required trainings and clearances (criminal, FBI, drug screen).

Responsibilities

• As a Residential Specialist, provide direct care in a residential setting for individuals with IDD.
• Assist with personal care, meals, daily living activities, and transportation when needed.
• Support community activities, appointments, and social events.
• Offer companionship, encouragement, and emotional support.
• Maintain a safe, clean home and follow individualized support plans.
• Promote dignity, respect and person-centered care.

What You’ll Do

• As a Residential Specialist, you will provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting
• Assisting with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene
• Preparing meals and assisting with feeding when necessary
• Supporting daily living skills and independence
• Helping individuals participate in community activities, appointments, and social events
• Providing companionship, encouragement, and emotional support
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment
• Following individualized support plans and goals
• Promoting dignity, respect, and person-centered care

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License
• Previous Experience working directly with individuals with IDD and Behavioral Health
• Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in English communication, both verbal and written
• Ability to successfully complete all required training programs
• Ability to pass Criminal Record History Clearances, FBI, Physical Examination, and Drug Screening

Schedule

• Full- Time/Part-Time
• Flexible scheduling based on programmatic needs
• Evening, weekend, holiday, and overnight hours may be required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist individuals as needed
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
