Job summary

Supportive Concepts for Families, Inc. is seeking a Residential Specialist to provide direct care in a residential setting for individuals with IDD and behavioral health needs in Harrisburg and surrounding Dauphin County.

The role offers flexible scheduling, paid training, and opportunities for advancement. No experience required for many positions, and a $2,000 sign‑on bonus is available for full‑time hires.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Pennsylvania driver's license required.
• Experience with individuals with IDD/Behavioral Health preferred or willing to train.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Ability to pass required trainings and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with IDD in a residential setting.
• Assist with personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene).
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding when necessary.
• Support daily living skills and independence.
• Help individuals participate in community activities, appointments, and social events.
• Provide companionship, encouragement, and emotional support.
• Maintain a safe, clean, welcoming home environment.
• Follow individual support plans and goals, promoting dignity and person-centered care.

What You’ll Do

As a Residential Specialist, you will provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting

Assisting with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene

Preparing meals and assisting with feeding when necessary

Supporting daily living skills and independence

Helping individuals participate in community activities, appointments, and social events

Providing companionship, encouragement, and emotional support

Maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment

Following individualized support plans and goals

Promoting dignity, respect, and person-centered care

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License
• Previous Experience working directly with individuals with IDD and Behavioral Health
• Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in English communication, both verbal and written
• Ability to successfully complete all required training programs
• Ability to pass Criminal Record History Clearances, FBI, Physical Examination, and Drug Screening

Schedule

• Flexible scheduling based on programmatic needs
• Evening, weekend, holiday, and overnight hours may be required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist individuals as needed
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
